John deere 1780 planter problems.

I have a 1780 16/31 john deere planter I cannot get the monitor to work all the time. Sometimes it will work very well and then again it will not work at all. It will tell me its planting when it's not and vice versa. I check the circuit with the planter diagnostics and it will tell me it is ok.
